I love to gather. I love to inspire. I love to guide conversation into revelation. AMEN. I’ve been stuck in a rut for some time. Wanting to create but not knowing what that looks like. Wanting to gather in space, but not having access to a venue that made sense or inspired me.
Then it struck me…why not open my home. Why not curate a space once a month with an intimate group of women to share stories and wisdom. But what do I call these gatherings? They are not workshops because I want people to join in conversation. Then a dear friend of mine mentioned the salon. WHAT? I had no idea about the history of salons. Once I dove into researching this topic, I was sold. I found my place. I was inspired.
So here is a brief history of what a salon is, in bullet points, because that’s how I roll:
A Salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. (Wikipedia)
The aim is to either please or educate.
The Salon was an Italian invention of the 16th century, which flourished in France throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. The salon continued to flourish in Italy throughout the 19th century. (Wikipedia)
The Salon was used as a place and space for women to continue their education.

And so, without further adieu I am hosting my first salon on March 21, 2019. It is opened to the first 10 people. Here are the details:
